Use AnyModl models in Cursor

Cursor lets you point its chat at any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Add your AnyModl key and base URL once, then pick from the models in the catalog.

Set it up

1. Get your key

Create a free account on the account page. The key is shown once, so copy it somewhere safe.

2. Open the model settings

In Cursor, open Settings (Ctrl+, or Cmd+,) and go to Models. Sign in to Cursor first if the fields are locked.

3. Add the key and base URL

Turn on OpenAI API Key and paste your AnyModl key. Turn on Override OpenAI Base URL and enter the URL below, including /v1.

4. Add models

Under Add model, type a model id exactly as it appears on the Models page, then click Verify. Repeat for each model you want in the picker.

Base URL

https://api.anymodl.com/v1

Then try it

Open chat (Ctrl+L or Cmd+L), choose the model you added, and send a short message. The request shows up in your usage on the account page, billed from your AnyModl balance.

What to expect

TopicDetails
Where it worksThe chat panel with the models you add. Cursor's own features such as Tab completion keep using Cursor's built-in models.
Your requestsCursor builds the prompt on its servers and then calls your base URL. Your key and prompts pass through Cursor, as they do with any custom key.
Model listA custom base URL replaces Cursor's default model list with the models you add. Turn the override off to get the defaults back.
PlansCursor may require a paid plan to use custom models. Check Cursor's current docs, since this changes between versions.
CostYou pay AnyModl per token from prepaid credit. Cursor's own subscription is separate.

If something fails

You seeTry this
Verify fails or 401Check that the key is pasted in full and the base URL ends in /v1 with no trailing path.
Model not found (404)Copy the id from the Models page exactly. Ids that Cursor does not recognize may be rejected by Cursor itself, so test a well-known chat model first.
402 or no creditYour balance is empty. Top up on the pricing page.
Agent tools misbehaveNot every model supports tool calling. Try a different model, or use chat mode.

Prefer tools over a model list?

Cursor also supports MCP servers. The AnyModl MCP server lets Cursor's agent list models, run a prompt on another model, and check your balance with the same key.
